Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, is visiting Jammu on 17th February to speed up the party campaign for ensuing elections.
As per party sources, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir will address Congress workers at Satwari and mobilize them to intensify the election campaign.
Azad will also interact with party's various committees, recently constituted by Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
"Azad will interact with all booth level workers of Jammu province and take stock of the ground situation. He will motivate workers to aggressively counter the lies of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and make good contacts will people in their respective areas," said Ravinder Sharma, chief spokesperson state Congress.
"Later, he would chair a meeting of senior Congress leaders, former MLAs, MLCs and all contesting candidates of the state to take stock of the situation."
Earlier, Azad dissociated himself from various committees announced by Congress president Rahul Gandhi for Jammu and Kashmir. However, sources revealed that the senior leader will play a key role in designing the election campaign of the party in Jammu and Kashmir.
