Rattan said that the decision of the Union government, while being very crucial for the development and prosperity of this border state, also addresses the aspirations of all the three regions equitably by sanctioning three major highways projects in the much needed areas of Jammu, same number for Kashmir valley and two projects for Ladakh.
"The well meaning decision of the union government is most welcome also on the basis that these sanctioned projects are hundred per cent centrally financed and will not be a burden on the already strained finances of the state, which the present PDP-BJP coalition has inherited from its predecessor', he said.
Balbir expressed gratitude to the Narendra Modi led government at the centre for giving nod to these projects "as they are going to be game changers in significantly improving the economy of not only the areas where these roads will be laid but the entire state".
He said these Highways will benefit further promote tourism and help the development of the surrounding areas and expressed hope that these projects will be initiated and completed within the scheduled time period.
