BJP to appoint 87 “vistaraks” for each J&K assembly constituency

Starting ground work for the 2019 parliamentary elections,  the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has decided to appoint “full time Vistaraks” (expansionist) similar to RSS Pracharaks for all the 87 assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir.

“As per the plan chalked out by the party high command in consultations with national president Amit Shah, there will be one Vistarak for each constituency of the state who will work full time in the constituency and gather all the minute details related to the constituency and the people,” said a party insider, adding that 60 full timeVistaraks have been appointed by the party and given the assignment of their respective constituencies.

“Their working will be the same like that of an RSS Pracharak, only the name is different,” said a BJP leader adding that all the Vistaraks will be volunteers who will be selected by the party on the basis of their abilities.

As per the assignment, the Vistarak will interact with the people and party workers in their allotted constituency. They will take stock of people’s problems, their development needs, implementation and progress of government schemes, both state and central, and gather other minute details of the constituency like the population profile. The Vistarak will also review the performance of the concerned MLA and the Member Parliament (MP) and get people’s opinion about their representative.

The Vistaraks, like the RSS Pracharaks, will work on expanding and propagating party’s ideology, principles, highlighting achievements of the government and the welfare schemes, as per party insiders. “Detailed reports will be prepared by each Vistarak during the course of one year which will be submitted directly to the party high command,” said Pawan Sharma, the In-charge of the Vistarak Programme. “After the parliamentary elections, the services of Vistaraks will be utilized in assembly elections as well.”
