Body of youth fished out in Udhampur

Jammu, May 5: Teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Sunday fished out the body of youth, who drowned in river Tawi in Udhampur on May 4.

Officials identified the deceased as Akhil, 21, resident of Jaganoo Morh, Udhampur.

   

Earlier, NDRF and SDRF personnel this morning resumed search operation to trace his body. “It took time to trace the body in fast-flowing river,” officials said and stated that the body after autopsy was handed over to family for last rites.

“Following incident on Saturday, DySP, SHO had rushed to the spot and immediately, NDRF and SDRF teams were called to launch search operation. Deceased was the only son of his parents,” locals said.
