BSF hands over ex-army man to Pak Rangers

Border Security Force on Wednesday said that it repatriated former Pakistani Army man to the Pak Rangers on humanitarian ground in Suchetgarh sector here.

Border Security Force on Wednesday said that it repatriated former Pakistani Army man to the Pak Rangers on humanitarian ground in Suchetgarh sector here.

"Pak Rangers early this morning contacted BSF via flag meeting and requested to handover Muhammad Baksh, 70, resident of village Gandiyal, Tehsil Pasroor, District Sialkot, (Pakistan), an ex-Pak Army man considering his old age and family commitments, on humanitarian ground," a BSF spokesman said.

He said that as an altruistic gesture, considering his old age and humanitarian ground the individual was handed over, during a Commandant and Wing Commander level meeting held in cordial atmosphere in Suchetgarh sector to Pak Rangers.

The Pak national had crossed into Indian territory in wee hours on Dec 13 and was apprehended by paramilitary BSF men.
