Children theatre, dance workshop conclude at JU

The ten-day-long children theatre and dance workshop organized by the department of students welfare, university of Jammu concluded on Monday with the presentation of dance and drama by around 40 participating children at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium of the varsity.  

Prof  RD Sharma, vice-chancellor, university of Jammu was the chief guest at the occasion who appreciated the performance of the children who have had fun filled learning during the workshop which was conducted by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) and Raksha Singh.

   

The vice-chancellor appreciated the efforts of dean students welfare, Prof Parmeshwari Sharma and her team in organizing such workshops. Prof Sharma said that these workshops impart expressive abilities and self confidence in children by training their minds and also their bodies. He further said that these workshops not only train them for stage, but for leadership in life as well.

In her welcome address, Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, dean students welfare gave a brief background of conducting such a unique workshop within the campus which was certainly very effective in kindling confidence and creativity in the participants. 

She said that such workshops leave a lasting impression in the young minds and also helps in shaping their overall personalities. The programme was witnessed by a huge gathering which included Prof Jasbir Singh (Chairperson, Campus NSS Units), Dr Anupama Vohra (Associate Dean SW), members of campus cultural committee, faculty members, officers, employees of the University, most of them parents of the participants. The event was conducted by Ifra Kak.
