Congress candidate for Ladakh LS seat seeks public apology from BJP’s Namgyal

,Rigzin Spalbar, Congress candidate for Ladakh Lok Sabha seat Thursday demanded “public apology” from Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, BJP candidate, over the “baseless allegations” he had levelled against the former way back in 2014.

Namgyalhad levelled serious allegations of corruption in organising Kalachakra, aBuddhist religious event, at Leh in 2014. Spalbar was then the member oforganising committee.

   

Spalbar in a statement said that it was “extremely shameful”for Namgyal, the BJP’s MP candidate, “to admit that the allegations he hadlevelled against him were wrong.

“He made this confession before the Ladakh BuddhistAssociation, Ladakh Gompa Association and Kalachakra Organising Committee at ameeting at Leh, which was headed by Thiksay Khanpo Rinpoche on 28 April 2019,”the statement said.

However he added that this confession was notsufficient.  “Namgyal should seek apologyfrom public of Ladakh,” he said.
