Continuation of Article 35A deadlier than having AIDS: Madhu Kishwar

Claiming that people of Jammu region have suffered worst kind of discrimination ever since 1947, controversial writer Madhu Kishwar on Saturday said that for Jammuites continuation of Article 35A is like having HIV AIDS symptoms.

“Rather I would say its continuation is deadlier and dangerous than having HIV AIDS,” she said while addressing a seminar titled “Article 35A-Jammu Under Seige.”

Madhu Kishwar said that a section of Valley based leaders, mainstream and separatists, are fooling Jammuites by telling them that they would suffer the most if the Article 35A is scrapped.

She said, “And to justify their claim, they are creating a wave of fear in Jammu that most of the Bihari, Bengali and other non-state Muslims will settle in Jammu. Let me make it very clear that this is happening even without scrapping the Article 35A.”

“People of Jammu are already sitting on firewall as they have been cornered from all the sides by Bihari, Bengali, Rohingya and Kashmiri Muslims. Aren’t they a threat to the city of temples? They are being settled here by Kashmiri leaders who have the upper hand as part of a larger conspiracy,” Kishwar said.

Kishwar said that even Rasana case was part of a campaign aimed at demographic change of Jammu “but thanks to people of Jammu for their unity that they didn’t let the Kashmiri forces succeed in their game plan.”

The controversial writer also applauded people of Jammu for hoisting tricolor “in their tough time during Rasana case.”

“I welcome them that they stood up against Kashmiri oppression by holding tricolor in their hands,” she said, adding, “But pathetically, the Kashmir media and a section of biased media projected people of Jammu as pro-rapists and murderers of a child.”

“They created an impression across India that people of Jammu were supporters of brutal rape and murder of a minor girl. We will not tolerate their agendas. I am soon going to present a full report on Kathua incident,” Kishwar said.

She said that internationally, Kathua case was shown as a symbol of brutality against a minor child by the Dogra community and none other than the former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was behind this campaign.

“It was a well-knit strategy to tell the world that not only the ISIS militants make women slave and commit rape with them but the Hindus also do the same. But Baba Kaliveer whose temple was defamed by Left media and Kashmiri leaders showed them his power when Mehbooba had to lose the chair,” Madhu Kishwar said.

Kishwar also said that under Roshni Act, allotment of lands to particular community members by the Kashmir based leaders who have an upper hand in state politics was also part of demographic change of Jammu.

Kishwar said that under Article 35A, women of Jammu region have been facing worst discrimination. Referring to a particular religion, she said, “Making women slave is part of their culture not ours. And they want to do the same with women of Jammu but we would not let it happen. We will support scrapping Article 35A.”

“They want to make India Darul-Islam and Jammu is the gateway to do so. People of Jammu have to remain very alert and understand their tactics of demographic invasion,” Kishwar said.

The controversial writer also targeted journalists, intellectuals like Shekhar Gupta, Saba Naqvi “and other liberals” for attempting to make India Darul-Islam.

“Shekhar Gupta often uses the word United States of South India in his reports to further create a wedge between North India and South India. Read the history and you will come to know that this term was first used by Pakistani defence ministry,” she said.

“Similarly, all of a sudden, Muslims and left liberals have started celebrating birthday of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. This culture too has roots in Pakistan,” she further said.

Attacking the separatists during her speech, Kishwar said those who do not believe in the Constitution of India should not be glorified by media.

“I suggest GoI to lodge all the separatists in jails outside the state in Andaman and Nicobar Island, Kerala and other South Indian States to teach them what democracy is. Their passports should also be cancelled, wards denied admissions in schools for treason,” Kishwar said.

Kishwar also shamed the Indian defence ministry for not granting powers to army personnel under the AFSPA.

“If our personnel have to knock the doors of SC for doing what they are supposed to do in jobs, for what purpose the ministry of defence is made?” she said.
