Coronavirus: Hotels closed in popular Patnitop hill resort in J-K

As part of efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus, theUdhampur district authorities in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday ordered immediateclosure of all hotels till March 31 at the popular Patnitop hill resort.

District Magistrate Piyush Singla asked the Hotel ManagementAuthorities of Patnitop to ensure compliance of the directive in letter andspirit.

   

He said the decision to close down all hotels falling withinthe jurisdiction of Patnitop Development Authority was taken as a preventivemeasure in view of the threat posed by the pandemic.

The prohibitory orders banning assembly of more than fourpersons were imposed in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir, where all educationalinstitutions, multiplexes, cinemas, shopping malls, restaurants and bars, foodcourts, gymnasiums, recreational clubs and swimming pools were closed as aprecautionary measure till March end.
