A complete shutdown was observed in Banihal on the second consecutive day over Kashmir killings on Friday and people staged a protest demonstration as well.
The protestors raised slogans against Kashmir killings and demanded justice for 8 year-old nomadic girl, who was raped and murdered in Kathua. They also burnt effigies of BJP leaders Choudhary Lal Singh and Chander Parkash Ganga and blocked the Jammu-Srinagar highway for some time.
According to reports, all the shops and commercial establishments remained closed while traffic remained off the roads in Banihal town, Tethar, Chareel and Gund Adalkoot.
Meanwhile, workers of congress party also carried out a protest at Banihal town, demanding justice for Asifa. Additional police force was deployed in Banihal to prevent any law and order situation.
