The defence lawyers on Friday completed the cross-examination of the father of eight-year-old girl who was raped and murdered in Rasana village of Kathua district in January this year.
The day-to-day in-camera hearing of the case is going on in Pathankot district and Sessions court after the case was transferred to the district, about 30km from Kathua, by the Supreme Court following the plea of victim's family.
The father of the victim, who is the star witness in the case, was cross-examined by the defence lawyers for two days. Defence lawyer AK Sawhney cross-examined the father on Thursday, and for the first half of the proceedings on Friday. Later, all the defence lawyers cross-examined him.
Four witnesses are likely to be produced in the court on Saturday. There are a total of 221 witnesses in the case.
