The DGP Dilbag Singh has rewarded five police personnel of Baramullla district for evacuating a pregnant woman from snow-bound area of Boniyar in the Baramulla district.
As per the release, the DGP has granted commendation certificate class-I and cash reward of Rs 2000 each in favour of ASI Rafiq Ahmad, constable Bashir Ahmad and constable Naseer Ahmad. Two SPOs Fayaz Ahmad and Manzoor Ahmad have been rewarded with commendation certificate and cash reward of Rs 1500 each.
It said that the personnel exhibited excellent performance while evacuating a pregnant woman from Dugran, Boniyar to health centre after converging around 9 kilometers of distance of feet by braving heavy snowfall.
“The efforts of the police team saved a human life as she was in dire need of medical treatment,” the statement said.
