Dr Varun Suthra appointed Founding Secretary Indian chapter of Democracy Without Borders

Eminent media activist Dr Varun Suthra has been appointed Founding Secretary Indian Chapter of Democracy Without Borders (DWB).

According to statement, Dr Suthra’s primary role would be to lead and coordinate the establishment of Indian chapter of DWB in collaboration with the prospective founding President, Dr Achyuta Samanta, Member of the Parliament and other relevant individuals from India who may join the chapter as founding members.

   

DWB is an international civil society organization that advocates global democracy, the notion of global citizenship and international collaboration.

Its main campaigns promote the creation of a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly (UNPA) as well as of the instrument of a UN World Citizen’s Initiative.

DWB has its global headquarters in Berlin.

“The creation of DWB-India will represent a major milestone in our efforts. We are delighted to have Dr Suthra as Founding Secretary to spearhead this endeavour,” said Andreas Bummel, Executive Director, DWB in a statement.

Expressing his gratitude to DWB management, Dr Suthra said, “It’s a great opportunity and honour. I would like to thank all those who have supported in my journey so far with a special thanks to Dr Samanta and Dr Niklaus Samuel Gugger, MP Switzerland.”
