Jammu, May 6: Fire broke out in a temporary hutment of labourers inside the building of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Vijaypur in Jammu region on Monday afternoon.
Though there was no loss of life in the incident yet the belongings of labourers in the hutment suffered damage. The cause of the fire was being ascertained.
Officials said, “This afternoon at around 2.30 pm, a labourer noticed smoke billowing out of the lower side of hutment, inside AIIMS complex. Immediately, officials of AIIMS management, police and Fire and Emergency personnel rushed to the spot. Fire tenders were pressed into service at around 3.15 pm or so.”
“It took time to extinguish the fire and by then, the belongings of labourers inside the hutment suffered damage. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in the incident. Cause of the fire is still being ascertained,” they said.
