Jammu, Dec 3: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Friday said that the government was committed to safeguarding the rights of all communities.
An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that speaking to a 20-member delegation of the Gujjar-Bakerwal community that called on him at Raj Bhavan here, the LG said that the J&K government was committed to safeguarding the rights of all the communities and was working in a planned manner for the educational and socio-economic upliftment of tribal communities of J&K.
He said that a comprehensive strategy had been developed to ensure that the basic amenities along with the benefits of all welfare schemes sponsored by the J&K government and central government besides other developmental initiatives reach the tribal population of J&K.
The LG assured the members of the delegation that all their genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities for their redress on merit.
