Advisor to Chief Minister Prof Amitabh Matoo on Sunday urged the writers, poets and scholars to come up with a draft cultural policy so that government can come up with a comprehensive and inclusive cultural policy in future.
He was speaking during screening of documentary film ‘Kanh Ma Sa Tariv Apour’ at Abhinav Theatre.
Matoo said though there is no cultural policy in the state, the government is contemplating to have a cultural policy.
He suggested to the writers, poets, artists and scholars to come up with a draft policy so that government can take that in consideration for further legislation to have a cultural policy in the state, an official handout said.
He said it would be better that scholars suggest a policy for the state which would be more inclusive as the policy framed by bureaucracy would be bureaucratic in nature.
Earlier Samooh Theatre and the members of the family of famous poet, writer and teacher Master Zinda Kaulon Sunday screened the documentary film ‘Kanh Ma Sa Tariv Apour’ based on the life and contribution of the late Master Zinda Kaul at Abhinav Theatre.
Matoo was the chief guest on the occasion.
