IT Deptt conducts raids in Jammu, Samba; confiscates vital record

Sleuths of income tax (IT) department on Tuesday raided around 5 industrial units and other business establishments in Jammu and Samba districts and seized vital record for scrutiny.

Official sources in the income tax department told Greater Kashmir that acting on credible information received from J&K circle of the department and GST Commissioner (Investigation), Government of India about concealing of income and fudging of records by some people running industries and other business establishments in Jammu and Samba, an IT department team led by Assistant Commissioner Income Tax, Ruveda Salam, conducted raids in the offices of some stationary sellers and paper industries in Jammu’s Satwari and Bablian areas and confiscated incriminating documents for scrutiny.

   

In Samba district, the senior department official said that record of a stone crusher and another industrial unit in Raya Pind was also seized by another team of the department.  

“We had strong inputs from the office of GST Commissioner (Investigation), Government of India about fudging of records and hoarding of illegal income by some people running stationary establishments, paper industries and stone crushers in Jammu and Samba,” the income tax department official said and added, “Accordingly, different departmental teams were constituted and they carried out raids in Samba and Jammu districts and seized incriminating documents from these units for scrutiny.” 

When the last report poured in, raids were going on in Jammu and Samba districts.
