N S Jamwal would replace Ram Awtar as new Inspector General of Border Security Forces (BSF), Jammu Frontier by December end, sources said.
Jamwal is a highly decorated 1984 batch direct entry officer, who is a recipient President Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS) and Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS).
He was the research fellow with Institute for Defense Studies and Analyses and served various important assignments, both at command and staff level. As Commandant, he was seen in action in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and the North-East. He has also served as instructor in the BSF and the National Security Guards (NSG)
