J&K fortunate to have rich diversity of languages, cultures: Advisor Ganai

Dogri Sanstha Jammu today organized one-day seminar on ‘Movement of Dogri and Dogri Sanstha’ here at K L Saigal Hall.

The seminar was inaugurated by Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ganai, as chief guest. He gave away Prof. Ram Nath Shastri Memorial Award-2019 to Ashok Dutta for his short story collection “Sochen Di Reehl”.

   

The Advisor also complimented Dogri Sanstha for organizingthe programme and for consistently working for promotion and development of thelanguage for last several decades.

He said that J&K State is fortunate to have a richdiversity of languages and cultures all of which are coexisting and flourishingin harmonious manner.

“The people of the state should take pride in their uniqueheritage which is symbol of state’s strength and an example to follow for wholeof the country” he maintained.

Another highlight of the program was felicitation of Dogriteachers of Higher Secondary Schools for promoting the Dogri language byensuring that maximum students opt for Dogri subject.  The Advisor also congratulated the awardees.

Earlier, Prof. Lalit Magotra, President of Dogri Sansthawhile welcoming the audience, made a brief mention of the journey of DogriSanstha. This year, Dogri Sanstha is completing 75th year of its foundationwhile celebrating the occasion as platinum jubilee, he informed.

The program was conducted by Prof. Shashi Pathania.
