JKAACL holds seminar on Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi

Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Friday organized a seminar SAMRITYAN (memories) to provide writers and intellectuals of Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi languages to share their memories.

Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Friday organized a seminar SAMRITYAN (memories) to provide writers and intellectuals of Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi languages to share their memories. 

Prof Lalit Mangotra, eminent Dogri writer and Convener Dogri, Sahitya Akademi, Niew Delhi presided, while Prof Lalit Gupta, renowned art expert was the chief guest. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary,   Azra Choudhary, Chief Editor, JKAACL were also present in the presidium.

While delivering his presidential address, Prof Lalit Magotra complimented Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Laguages for organizing Seminar on such an important subject like 'Samrityan(memories) and said that this is for the first time that one day seminar has been organized where intellectuals of locally spoken languages like Hindi, Dogri and Punjabi languages have got an opportunity to share  their thoughts through the window of their memories and  help more addition in the wisdom. He said that such programmes should be made as regular activity in future. He also appreciated the writers for   participating in this seminar.

Prof Lalit Gupta, an art Historian and columnist, while addressing the gathering congratulated the participating writers and said that the writing on memories is not an easy task. He also suggested that the intellectuals should also rethink over how memories can be created in the form of articles/writings. 

Earlier, while welcoming the distinguished guests, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary informed about the future activities of the J&K Cultural Academy. He further told that national seminars, conferences and mega events related to culture,   visual and performing arts including Annual Drama Festival, on the spot music and painting competitions for children and so on will be organised in near  future.

The participating writers included Dr Om Goswami. Brij Mohan, Prof Champa Sharma, Prof Shiv Nirmohi, Sh Naresh Kumar Udaas, Mrs Yogita Yadav, Mrs Neer u Sharma, Ajit Singh Mastana, Dr Monojit, Dr Janak Singh Kirti, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik.

The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sh Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri and vote of thanks was presented by Mrs Azra  Choudhary.
