JKNPP’s Harsh Dev to contest from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat

Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) on Wednesday announced its candidate for the Udhampur constituency for the upcoming parliamentary elections..

“Senior leaders unanimously proposed the name of JKNPPchairman Harsh Dev Singh as the candidate for Kathua –Udhampur- Doda,” BalwantSingh Mankotia, the party state president told reporters.

   

Mankotia said the demand for Singh’s candidature hademanated from various assembly segments of Kathua, Udhampur and Doda.

“Panthers party is already playing role of opposition inJammu and Kashmir from last four years. We had touched each and everyconstituency and people appreciate our efforts. They have realised that onlypanthers party is a strong alternative in Jammu,” Mankotia said.

Hesaid no name was finalised yet for the Jammu-Poonch constituency but acandidate would be announced in two days time.

Mankotia also urged thepeople to vote for JKNPP in the upcoming election and accused theparliamentarians from the Jammu region of failing to appropriately project theaspirations of its people.

“The present situationcalled for reposing faith in a leadership that could steer Jammu out of crisisand represent the sentiments of the Dogras in proper perspective,” the NPPleader added.

Kathua- Udhampur-Doda alsoknown as Udhampur-Doda constituency is currently represented by BharatiyaJanata Party leader Jitendra Singh who is also a junior minister in the primeminister’s office.

Former minister and BJP rebel Lal Singh has alreadyannounced to contest from the Lok Sabha seat for his own Dogra SavabhimanSangathan.

Lal Singh represented theseat in parliament for two successive terms from 2004 to 2014 as a Congressparty leader.
