The enforcement staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation on Saturday demolished certain illegal constructions being raised at Last Morh area of Gandhi Nagar constituency.
As per a press statement issued by JMC, the constructions were raised unauthorisedly and in violation of the building plan.
“The action against the structures was initiated under the provisions of J&K Control of Building Operation Act 1998,” the statement said.
In another drive launched at Below Gummat, Indra Chowk, Bus Stand, Jewel and Residency Road areas, which was supervised by secretary JMC, Sunaina Sharma, several articles placed outside the shops and establishments were removed and 5 illegal rehris were lifted.
The shopkeepers were instructed not to display articles outside the shutter lines.
Meanwhile, the JMC appealed the general public to refrain from making illegal constructions and get building plans, whether commercial or residential approved by the corporation.
“Or otherwise, action as admissible under rules will be taken against the violators,” said the statement.
