Northern Army commander Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh on Wednesday visited operational bases in Akhnoor and Reasi sector to review the operational preparedness and the prevalent security situation, an army spokesman said in a statement.
He said that the army commander was accompanied by White Knight Corps, Commander Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh, the army commander was briefed by field commanders on ground about the current operational situation, prevailing security scenario and the preparedness of the formations in dealing with the same.
“The Army Commander was also briefed on the actions being taken to ensure a robust counter infiltration and counter militancy grid to enable continued peace and stability in the region and use of new generation technology for enhancing operational capability,” he said, adding that the Army Commander interacted with the soldiers and complimented them for their unwavering dedication to duty, selfless devotion and high standard of professionalism.
