A 25-year-old man has been booked under POCSO Act on charges of sexually harassing a minor girl in Kathua.
Police quoting parents of the 7-year-old victim claimed that the incident happened some 7 days back, but the parents of the girl lodged a written complaint with Kathua police on October 31.
As per the police, the differently-able accused person is the neighbour of the victim. The victim’s family, originally from Bihar, live in a rented accommodation in Hatli Morh, Kathua.
Incharge women cell Kathua, Kirti Sharma told Greater Kashmir, “The accused committed the crime at the residence of the victim girl when her parents were not home. Later, the girl narrated the whole ordeal to her parents who on October 31 lodged a written complaint with the police.”
The police officer said the accused has been booked in case FIR 8/2018 under sections 323, 342, 452 RPC and 8/12 POCSO Act.
