The annual calendar for Lok Adalats in year 2019 has been approved and shall begin on March 9.
As per a communication, A.K. Sikri, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority has approved the calendar for holding of the National Lok Adalats in this year 2019.
Criminal compoundable offence, NI Act cases under Section 138, Bank Recovery cases, MACT cases, Matrimonial disputes, Labour disputes, Land Acquisition cases, Service Matters relating to pay and allowances and retrial benefits, Electricity and water Bi!ls(excluding non-compoundable, Revenue cases (pending in District Courts and High Courts) and Other Civil cases may be taken up for settlement in the National Lok Adalat.
In this connection, all the concerned especially advocates, government departments, different insurance companies, financial institutes, banks and private litigants who are desirous of getting their pre- litigation and pending cases amicably settled before the National Lok Adalat, are asked to furnish the particulars of their respective cases to this office by or before February 5, 2019 so that priority may be given to the said cases in the preparation in the cause list.
