NIA files chargesheet against three in Jammu IED recovery case

Srinagar Dec 23: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday filed chargesheet against two persons from Ramban and another from south Kashmir’s Shopian in a case related to the recovery of IED in Bathindi area of Jammu on June 27 this year.

As per a NIA spokesman, the chargesheet in case RC-04/2021/NIA/JMU under Section 120B, 121A and 122 of IPC, Section 18, 18B, 19, 20 & 23 of UA(P) Act 1967; Section 4 & 5 of Explosive Substances Act was produced before NIA Special Court Jammu against three accused persons namely Nadeem Ul Haq son of Abdul Rehman Rather a resident of Mohalla Lonepora locality in village Zenihal, tehsil Banihal of Ramban district, Nadeem Ayoub Rather son of Mohd Ayoub Rather of village Checki Choelend, tehsil Harmain in district Shopian and Talib Ur Rehman son of Abdul Rehman Nazar, of Village Kaskut , tehsil Banihal in Ramban.

   

The case pertains to the recovery of IED by J & K Police from Nadeem Ul Haq on June 27 this year near Madarsa Markaz Ul Haroof at Bhatindi. The case was initially registered by J & K Police as FIR no. 234/ 2021 at PS Bahu Fort, Jammu and subsequently taken up for investigation by NIA on July 17.

As per the NIA spokesman, the trio “were receiving instructions from Pakistan-based The Resistance Front (TRF) handlers via WhatsApp”.

“Investigation has unearthed a larger conspiracy of recruitment and plans to activate a significant number of radicalized youth of the entire valley to target security personnel and public places to wage war against the government of India. Further investigation in the case continues, ” it said.
