Two orphan minor siblings living in their 4-room set here at Bathindi area of Jammu are being allegedly harassed by land grabbers 'who want to usurp their property.'
Baba Aman Tak (11) and Shabia Tak (15) of Bhaderwah are staying with their maternal grandparents in Bathindi area of Jammu after death of their parents.
"My father and mother-Shahid Latief Tak and Heema Tak -died in road accidents", Shabia Tak said, adding, "Since then, we are staying with our Nana (Maternal grandfather) and Nani (Maternal grandmother) in Jammu".
Shabia said after the death of her mother in 2010, the alleged land grabber-Mohammad Latief alias Billu son of Gul Mohammad of Bathindi and his accomplices, in connivance with incharge Police Post Bathindi, Mukhtyar Ahmed-have been repeatedly attempting to grab their land.
"On September 28 this year, Billu, along with his accomplices demolished the wall of our plot and asked my grandparents to either vacate the plot or face consequences", she said.
Reyaz Ahmed Khan, maternal grandfather of the minors, said he lodged a complaint with SDPO Nagrota about the 'harassment and intimidation' by the encroachers and shielding of the culprits by the incharge police post concerned.
He said the SDPO Nagrota directed Mukhtyar Ahmed (Incharge police post) to take strict action against the encroachers but he (Mukhtyar) is giving a damn to the directions of the senior police officer.
"Now that the incharge police post, Bathindi has not taken any action against the accused despite repeated directions from SDPO Nagrota, we appeal to the SSP Jammu, DIG concerned and IG concerned to protect us from the powerful land grabbers", Khan said.
Khan also appealed the senior police officers to take strict action against Mukhtyar Ahmed, who according to him is assisting the land grabbers in their attempt to usurp their property.
