Specially-abled persons were today made aware about their rights and schemes meant for their welfare here at an awareness camp organized by Social Welfare Department in collaboration with Health Department and District Legal Service Authority to mark the International Day for person with Disabilities was celebrated by.
The legal experts and officers of SWD informed the participants about the rights of specially-abled persons and different schemes meant for their welfare.Secretary DLSA, SewtaGupta, highlighted the legal aspect and assistance to the needy people in respect of aid through Para Legal Volunteers. The function ended with distribution of blankets, and prosthetic aid such as hearing aid kits, walking aids, etc to the specially-abled persons.
