A daylong programme on drug abuse was organised here at district jail on Monday.
As per the release, the programme was organised under the supervision of Harish Kotwal, superintendent district jail, Udhampur and in collaboration with the NGO-Jio Aur Jeene Do.
On this occasion, chairman of the NGO, Tariq Shah, along with resource person, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, retired SP and advocate Svantar Dev Kotwal, deputy chief warden, civil defence, Udhampur, motivated the jail inmates to stay away from drugs.
They delivered lecture on the ill-effects of drug abuse and its overall impact on individual and society as a whole.
At the end of the programme, jail superintendent, Harish Kotwal delivered a lecture on the ill effect of drugs and sought cooperation from one and all to root out the menace from the society.
Meanwhile, the jail inmates thanked the jail superintendent for organising such programmes.
