A delegation of J&K RTI Movement called on Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu today and appealed her to constitute J&K State Information Commission (SIC) without any further delay.
"We reminded CM about her 2014 assembly election manifesto (vision document) wherein PDP assured citizens of state to strengthen the Institutions of Transparency especially Information Commission which has been constituted under J&K RTI Act 2009," said Tanveer Hussain Khan RTI Activist who was also part of the delegation.
He said the previous NC lead government had changed RTI Rules in August 2012 "which challenged the autonomy of Information Commission and the PDP which was in opposition had lambasted the then Government over the issue."
"RTI Movement demanded that Non Judicial stamp papers be again allowed to be used as one of the modes of RTI fees payment. CM assured us that Information Commission would be constituted soon "said Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat Founder & Convener of RTI Movement who lead the delegation.
