Search operation continues on second straight day in Jammu

The joint search operation launched yesterday to track suspected militants who managed to flee after opening fire at Jajjar Kotli area of Jammu continued for the second day today. 

Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Reserve Police Force and army jointly carried out the search operation in Jhajjar and its adjoining villages and along the Jammu-Srinagar highway.

   

A police official said that three suspected militants slipped into nearby woods after forces intercepted the truck in which they were travelling yesterday morning.

The administration has also imposed restrictions on the movement of traffic on Nagrota-Jhajjar Kotli stretch of the strategic highway, where a massive search operation is going on.

All educational institutions within the Tikri Zone were shut on Thursday as a precautionary measure.
