
Demanding Justice to the families of victims of 1984 riots, several Sikh organizations held a protest march, here on Thursday.
The march started from Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chand Kouran Jammu and passed through several bazaars of the city and culminated at press club.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards in their hands and were raising slogans in support of their demands.
A large number of Sikh community and others from different organizations which include Parvinder Singh president of Jammu and Kashmir Sikh Sangat, Jasarath Khan Rashtriya Muslim Morcha, BAMCEF, Ranjeet Singh Sikh Morcha, BAMCEF/ United Sikh Council J&K, Choudhary Hanef Bahujan Samajwadi Party, Molana Shah Mohammed Choudhary Bhartiya Baichara, RD Thapa, Ambedkar Youva Sangathan, Anil Kumar Youva Bhim Sena, Molana Mohammed Azmal Choudhary Cordination Committee Communal Hormany, Comrade Sukhdev Singh, Tejinder Singh, Tejinder Pal Singh (Aman) Sikh Youth Sewa Trust, Jathedar Mohinder Singh Member District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee and President, Shiromani Akali Dal Badal, Kulvinder President Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Jee, Chand Nagar also took part in the protest.
While speaking on the occasion, the community members blamed the State as well as Central Government for not providing justice to the Sikh community even after passing of 34 years.
All the participants appealed to the State government to reopen all the cases of Sikh genocide which took place at the time of riots in several places across the state and identify the persons who attacked the innocent Sikh families.
