Skips inauguration of Jammu ropeway project, NPP stages demonstration

Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) activists on Sunday staged demonstration over the delay in the inauguration of the Jammu cable car project.

Led by zonal president of the party, Neeraj Gupta, scores of NPP activists assembled here outside the office of J&K State Cable Car Corp, Bahu Ropeway Station, and raised slogans against the erstwhile PDP-BJP government for using sub-standard material in the ropeway project.

Addressing media men, Neeraj Gupta, the zonal president of the party said, “The PDP-BJP dispensation allowed use of sub-standard material in the project owing to which two people died during the trial run of the project recently. Had the erstwhile government ensured the use of quality material, the project would have been inaugurated today along with other projects by the Prime Minister.”

“We urge the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Governor SP Malik to fix the responsibility for the use of sub-standard material in the project,” appealed Gupta.

Those who participated in the protest were Jagdish Singh, Amar Chand, Ravinder Singh, Sunil Verma, Surat Lal, Bablu Ram, Ramesh Kumar and Ashok Kumar.
