Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, Jammu (SKUAST-J) on Tuesday held the eleventh Board of Studies (BoS) meeting for the faculty of agriculture under the chairmanship of Dr DP Abrol, dean faculty of agriculture.
As per the release, Dr PK Mehta, an eminent academician and dean, faculty of agriculture (FoA), CSKHPKVV, Palamapur was the expert. Various agendas related to FoA were placed before the board for deliberations.
At the outset Prof DP Abrol, dean FoA, SKUAST-J, extended a warm welcome to the expert and participants. It was discussed that various faculties were approved in the SKUAST-J university council meet years ago, but the same have not been sanctioned by the government as on date.
The house unanimously resolved that the matter should be taken up with the State government so that the faculties can be sanctioned along with posts at the earliest.
Other important agendas including the change of eligibility for admission in B Tech, biotechnology degree programme as per ICAR 5th dean’s committee recommendations, institutionalization of BSc (Hons) in horticulture under faculty of agriculture were also discussed in the meet.
