Strike by Polytechnic Academic Arrangements Association staff enters 27th day

The protest dharna by Polytechnic Academic Arrangements Association staff entered 27 th day today at exhibition ground.

The protest dharna by Polytechnic Academic Arrangements Association staff entered 27 th day today at exhibition ground. The protesting staff demanded that they should be included in J&K Civil Service Act 2010.

The protest was led by All Jammu and Kashmir Polytechnic Academic Arrangements Association(AJKPAA), Jammu President  Atul Sudan.

Addressing the media persons Atul Sudan said that , "they are facing a social and economical injustice since last many years". 

He also said , "Judgment of Supreme court that equal pay should be given for equal work. He said that department from last more than 5years is carrying out the process of salary enhancement but till now nothing has been done for them". 

He said that they are facing social and economic injustice as they are such highly qualified and are properly selected on merit basis but are paid even less than a labor. He said that from last many years they are running pole to pole for their demands but nothing was done for them. He said that after meeting the minister of technical education they are having a hope from the minister as he had insured them for their regularization.

Deepakshi Sharma an incumbent addressing the media said that they are highly qualified graduate, post graduate engineers and even P.H.D scholars who are serving up to their best to the department since last 10-15 years. She said that they are not the back door appointees that government is neglecting their work conduct. 

She also said they were selected by the selection committee and were the toppers in division level merit. She said they continued for so many years on this merger salary on hope of regularization which was timely assured verbally and written by one government and other.
