SVC summons Director Floriculture

Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Commission (SVC) today summoned the Director Floriculture to appear before the commission in connection with the sanctioning of shop outside the Mughal garden which allegedly resulted in monetary losses to the state government.

The full bench of SVC comprising Kuldeep Khoda, R K Jerath and Gous-ul-Nisa Jeelani has summoned the Director Floriculture for his personal appearance before the Commission on August 2 for explaining the reasons of failure on his part to act on the complaint filed by Sheikh Nayeem Ahmed," an SVC spokesman said.

He said that the complainant had brought to the notice of the commission about the illegal occupation of shop outside the Cheshmashahi Mughal garden in Srinagar which resulted to huge monetary loss to the state government, he said.

"The complainant on the basis of information obtained under RTI from Floriculture Department had alleged flouting of procedure in sanctioning of a shop belonging to Floriculture Department situated outside Mughal Garden, Chesmashahi," the spokesman said.

The SVC has summoned the Director Floriculture to appear before the commission to explain his stand for not following the norms in the allotment of the shop.
