Two solar power plants inaugurated in Jammu

Two vital solar power plants were on Wednesday inaugurated at two separate locations in Jammu.

A 140 KW rooftop solar power generation setup was inaugurated in the campus of Border Roads Organization, Project Sampark, at Kunjwani Jammu.

   

“This 140 KW roof top solar power generation adds a new feather in the world of BRO, which has contributed in the construction of vital roads, bridges and other infrastructure in the area,” a press statement issued by the BRO said.

During the commissioning of the set up, Brigadier YK Ahuja, chief engineer, BRO, said, “This is first step towards shifting to renewable resources of energy. We all should encourage our near and dear to use solar equipments in our houses.”

The BRO chief engineer added that the project comprises of 140 KW Grid Tied Solar Power Generation costing Rs 74, 20, 000, out of which 60% project cost was subsidised through MNRE and balance was borne by HQ CE (P) Sampark.

The project was executed by M/s Jeanie Power Solution Private Limited, an empanelled installer of JAKEDA (J&K Energy Development Agency), the state nodal agency for installing any solar power project through MNRE.

Dr P R Dhar, CEO JAKEDA, who was present during the commissioning, complimented chief engineer and entire Sampark team for their wholehearted efforts in converting this Green Project a grand success.

Richa Varshney, CEO, Jeanie Power Solution Private Limited, was also appreciated by entire team of Sampark and JAKEDA for finishing the quality project well before time.

Similarly, Sheikh Fayas Ahmed, secretary, science and technology department, J&K government, inaugurated 50 KW Solar Rooftop Power Plant at SRML Higher Secondary School Jammu.

Highlighting the details, Dr PR Dhar, CEO JAKEDA, briefed about the benefits and technical specifications of the project and also stated that the project comprises of 50 KW Grid Tied Solar Power Generation, costing Rs 27, 50, 000, out of which 60% project cost was subsidised through MNRE and balance was borne by state government.
