Vigilance Awareness Week, 2023 | Capacity building workshop for DVOs, field staff organised

Jammu, Nov 3: As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week, 2023, one day Capacity Building Workshop for DVOs and field staff was organised by ACB at J&K Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu.

This year the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week is “Say no to corruption; commit to the Nation”. The workshop was attended by the Departmental Vigilance Officers, DIG Jammu, SSP Jammu, Jurisdictional SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, Investigating officers of Police Stations of Jammu, Officers and officials of ACB.  Large number of students from Law School, University of Jammu, KC Law College and Dogra Law college also participated in the event.

   

Sh. Tahir Khursheed Raina, Special Judge, Anti Corruption, Jammu was Chief Guest and  Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner was Guest of Honour on the occasion. Judge during his deliberations on the menace of corruption emphasized that eradication of the corruption is not only the duty of Government, Need of the time is to raise a concerted effort against the corruption on all fronts. This lofty objective is not to be left to be achieved by the Government . agencies and the courts only. This lofty mission will start firstly by addressing our own selves to be an epitome of honesty, then comes the family, followed by the society and the nation as a whole to join the crusade against corruption. He told that Fundamental to the solution of the problem is to strengthen the moral conscience of the individual and create an environment where corruption is viewed as a crime and a sin. India is a country where religion and spirituality is respected and revered. God consciousness, fear of God and sense of accountability for one’s actions needs to be developed and inculcated in all citizens. He further said that corruption is not just about exchange of money but at a deeper level it is a poison that contaminates all systems. He emphasized that we should join our Leader Prime Minister. Narendra Modi’s resolve to get rid of corruption, nepotism and appeasement. As these three evils are hindering the progress of country. He also addressed to the questions raised by the audience pertaining to the subject.

Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu on the occasion told that regular alert notes and advisories issued by ACB are of great help to all the field formations. He expressed how the use of technology can help to monitor the working of government employees. He maintained that each and every office procedure should be diarized this will help to fix the responsibility of erring official in case of any lapse on his part.

Dalip Kumar, SSP ACB Jammu gave a brief presentation on the working of ACB.

Director ACB  Anand Jain also laid emphasis on corruption free society and asks audience which included officers from Police and ACB to work in fair and transparent manner which will help in eradication the corruption. He also emphasized the leverage of technology in fight against corruption.
