Inhabitants of Batpora Thursday held a protest demonstration at Lolab area, here, demanding the whereabouts of a boy missing since Wednesday evening.

Sources said the protesters including the family members ofthe missing youth, appealed to the police to trace 19-year-old Zakir AhmadBhat, a 12th standard student.

"Zakir had left his home as usual for evening prayers but hedid not reach the mosque and is missing since Wednesday evening. We contactedall our relatives and friends but he is nowhere," said his relative, JavedAhmad.

He said that Zakir had left for evening prayers from hiskin's house, which is nearby his home. "After Iftar, he went for prayers and hedid not return. We thought he would have gone to his home as usual and we didnot contact his parents," Javaid said.

"In the Sehri time when his father called us, we came toknow that he had not gone to his home," he said.

"We appeal to the general public please contact us on7006720331 if they find him," Javaid said.

A sit in protest was held in the afternoon with peopledemanding that police should trace the boy.

"We are investigating the matter. We hope we will trace himwithin few hours," a police official said.
