13 youths detained during raids in south Kashmir

Around 13 youths were detained by the government forces during raids in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and Anantnag districts last night.

“Forces raided Midoora, Laribal, Kakapora, Marhama and other areas and picked up 13 persons in connection with the deadly militant attack that left 49 CRPF personnel dead,” said a source.

   

As per locals, soon after the Lethpora attack forces barged into the residence of Jaish commander Mudasir Khan of Midoora in Awantipora area Thursday night. “The forces thrashed his family members, hurled abuses and ransacked their house,” locals said.

Since Thursday night massive forces deployment was seen across southern areas particularly Pulwama, Awantipora, Tral and Sangam to conduct raids. The youths were detained from their homes and were lodged in various police stations.

A senior police official said, “We have detained many youths for questioning with regard to the convoy attack.”
