Two persons including a woman were critically injured after a Bear attacked them in Kandi area of Karnah tehsil in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The injured have been identified as Jameela Begum wife of Muhammad Ashraf Awan and Muhammad Shafi son of Muhammad Hussain, both residents of Kandi Karnah.
Reports said bear attacked Jameela when she was grazing her cattle in forest area and also attacked Shafi when he was harvesting maize in the same area, resulting in serious injuries to both.
Jameela has been referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment while Shafi has been admitted in sub-district hospital here.
