Gulzar ‘Peer’ remanded to week-long judicial custody

A day after he was taken into preventive custody, self-styled faith-healer Gulzar 'Peer' was Monday remanded to seven-day judicial custody.

Sub-divisional magistrate Khansahib Muhammad Aijaz ordered the week-long custody after 'Peer' was produced before him today by Jammu and Kashmir police.

Gulzar Ahmad Bhat who uses the nom du guerre Gulzar 'Peer' was acquitted by a local court of all charges, which included, among others, alleged rape of dozens of his girl students in his seminary in central Kashmir's Budgam district.
