Srinagar, Oct 9: Expressing its concern over the 'escalation' in Indo-Pak border tension in Keran and other areas, the Hurriyat Conference (M) Wednesday said the loss of life in the region at any given time is related to pending resolution of Kashmir dispute.
This was stated at the Hurriyat executive council meeting convened by its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at its headquarters at Rajbagh here.
"For the past seven decades, the endless blood has been spilled in the valley and on the borders. The bloodshed and instability would continue to mar the region until resolution of Kashmir issue. Loss of life and bloody incidents cannot be stopped till all stakeholders sit and hold meaningful dialogue to solve the vexed dispute," the Hurriyat (M) executive members, according to a party statement, said. "If the dispute remains unsolved, it will continue to remain the source of tension and instability."
Terming the action of State Assembly against former army Chief VK Singh, who has revealed that pro-Indian politicians in Kashmir are being given money by army as a mere eyewash, the spokesman said such exercises were "aimed to mislead the common Kashmiris."
"Instead of unmasking the politicians involved in taking money from army, the demand of meaningless probe was to actually protect the corrupt politicians. Since everybody is involved in one way or the other in receiving money from army, efforts are on to bury the issue, once and for all," the members said.
The meeting was attended by Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Musadiq Adil, Moulana Abbas Ansari, and Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi.
