Srinagar, Nov 9: Chairman of National Front Nayeem Ahmad Khan on Saturday termed as tragic the plight of Kashmiri prisoners in different jails. He urged international institutions and forums to come forward and help them.
Khan while addressing NF workers here said, "These prisoners are the torch bearers of the ongoing movement. New Delhi is using every sort of oppression to suppress Kashmiris. During last two and a half decades, thousands of innocent Kashmiris were martyred and thousands subjected enforced disappearance and thousands others arrested only because they were working for a just cause."
He said, Er Farooq, Mehmood Topiwala, Fayaz Ahmad, Noor Muhammad, Muhammad Ayoub Dar, Muhammad Ayoub Mir, Dr Shafi Sharieti, Dr Qasim, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Taruiq Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Amin, Shawkat Ahmad Khan, Feroz Ahmad Khan, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Misbah ul Islam, Rajdeen, Shabir Ahmad, Masrat Aalam Bhat, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Nazir Ahmad, Muhammad Ayoub, Bashir Ahmad, Mir Hafiz Ullah and Muhammad Yousuf Fallahi are among the prominent prisoners serving detention in different jails. "These and other hundreds of people are in fact the resistance heroes who are scripting a new and great chapter of resistance by exhibiting steadfastness in the jails like Nasik Maharashtra, Kolkatta, Bangalore, Tihar, Jodhpur, Kuthua, Hiranagar, Kot Bhalwal, Amphala, Udhmapur and other jails and interrogation centers of Kashmir."
Khan expressed concern about the matter that most of the Kashmiri prisoners are kept without court trials and that they are being imprisoned under 'new but fake cases' one after the other.
Khan appealed to the International institutions to take cognizance of the situation of Kashmiri prisoners and work for their immediate release.
