A faction of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) led by Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan on Saturday condemned police action against daily wagers and ReT teachers who were protesting to get their grievances addressed.
In a statement here President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan said, "Use of brute force by police against employees who were protesting for their genuine demands is inhuman and blatant abuse of power. Protests are inalienable rights in a liberal democracy and curbing them is against civil liberties.
People in Kashmir cannot express their free opinion; they are choked and cannot breathe; they are treated as animals. Thousands of daily wage employees who are putting their blood and sweat to run government departments for so many years on minuscule wages have been humiliated to the hilt."
He said Government instead of fulfilling its promise of regularization of daily wages is using batons against them for raising voice which is "tyrannical."
