Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today rejected Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar's statement about eliminating "terrorists by terrorists", saying there was no place for another gun culture in the state as the situation has improved considerably.
"It (the statement) clearly shows the mindset of the NDA government.
There is neither any space for another gun culture nor can it be allowed to prevail again in the state, as the situation in the Valley has improved considerably," JKPCC president, Ghulam Ahmad Mir said addressing a convention of the party workers.
The JKPCC president said any such move by the Centre would be defeated.
"Any such move by the NDA government with regard to Jammu and Kashmir will be defeated on every front. It seems the Defence Minister had not done his home work properly, before his departure from the Union capital," Mir said.
Terming PDP-BJP coalition in the state a "divided house", the Congress leader said the parties do not trust each other and have forgotten the issues confronting the state. PTI
