Survivors of Sadrakoot Bandipora massacre Friday alleged that former government gunman (Ikwani) Rashid Billa has threatened to kill them if they don't withdraw the cases they have filed against him (Billa).
On October 5, 1996, seven people of Sadrakoot Bala, Bandipora were killed allegedly by soldiers of 13 Rashtriya Rifles, based at Asham camp. The soldiers were accompanied by the government gunman, Rashid Billa (Abdul Rashid Parray). The killed include wife, daughter, son and nephew of one family headed by Ghulam Qadir Dar. The other three were neighbours of Dar.
" We are being threatened by Billa continuously. He asks us to withdraw case against him," Ghulam Qadir Dar, now a National Conference, worker told Greater Kashmir.
"We approached police, but they are ignoring," Dar said adding that police had registered a case against Billa soon after the killings, but that is yet to be challaned. "I have made hundreds of request to police for challaning the case, but nothing has happened till date."
