Chairman of Kashmir Society Khwaja Farooq Renzushah on Friday expressed concern over breakdown of communication network in north Kashmir.
In statement here Renzushah said: "There is an urgent need to protect the mobile towers and mobile. It seems some elements want to push us back into nineties when every second person used to threaten other in the name of Tehreek or Tanzeem."
"If Hurriyat really wants to protect the rights of people it should give assurance to cell phone towers landlords that they won't be targeted," he added.
Renzushah appealed people, who have rented out their land to cellular companies, not to get panicky and shutdown mobile towers.
