The DPS Srinagar Parents Association (DPSSPA) along with Parents Association of Privately Administered Schools (PAPAS), held a peaceful sit-in at Pratap Park here to express discontent over the problems faced by the parents and to press upon the concerned authorities to intervene into the matter at a higher level.

They demanded compulsory participation of parents in the administration of schools.

"The issue of non-compliance of the High Court order regarding Sept, Oct 2014 fees was also raised besides lack of basic infrastructure in schools, unsafe transport in more than a dozen schools," said a handout of DPSSPA, adding that most important point stressed in the event was need of a School Level Parent Association to be made mandatory in every school with participation of more than 70% of parents to counter monopoly of the school administration.

Moreover, according to DPS Parents association the hike of 300 Rs bus fare from 1st July 2015 is not justifiable. They wanted DPS Management to revoke that extra bus fare.
