Irked by unavailability of doctors at Sub District Hospital Kangan, patients from different areas on Tuesday staged protest in Kangan demanding improvement in patient care facilities in the hospital.

Irked by unavailability of doctors at Sub District Hospital Kangan, patients from different areas on Tuesday staged protest in Kangan demanding improvement in patient care facilities in the hospital.

Chanting slogans against hospital authorities, protesters tried to march towards SDM office Kangan, however, police intercepted them and restricted their protest to local market.

The protesting patients told Greater Kashmir that they were waiting for doctors at hospital OPD since early morning till 11.30 am but were disappointed and forced to come on roads.

"Many doctors were transferred from the hospital some days back but neither were doctors replaced nor was a full-fledged superintendent posted in the hospital," said Ajaz Ahmad, a protester.

Muhammad Ramzan, Deputy CMO Ganderbal and Rayees Ahmad, SHO Kangan later reached the spot and pacified protesters after assuring redressal of their grievances.
